It’s National Lighthouse Day and, although I don’t get super into these National Day hashtags, this is one I didn’t want to miss. A Lot of people might not realize this, but there are actually 65 lighthouses in the State of Maine. Not all of them can be accessed by land.
The lighthouse you see here is Doubling Point, which is actually located near Bath Iron Works across the Sagadahoc Bridge in Arrowsic. It sits on the Kennebec River and has been there since 1898 (15 years after the start of Bath Iron Works). Wishing you all a Happy Sunday!
